Have a tattoo in mind—or still looking for the right idea? Describe a subject, a memory, or a symbol, and use our AI tattoo generator to explore a design that feels personal.
Try delicate linework, bold blackwork, or a traditional color palette. Compare designs, refine a favorite with Remix, and preview its placement before taking the idea to your tattoo artist.

You don’t need a finished sketch to begin. Your tattoo idea can start with a flower you love, a place you remember, or two symbols you want to bring together. Describe the main subject and the details that matter to you, and let the AI turn those words into a visual starting point.
A mountain inside a compass, for example, brings a journey and a sense of direction into one motif. Compare the generated design with your idea, then decide which shapes to keep or change. You can try the example here or begin with a subject of your own.

The subject is only part of your tattoo. Fine lines can make a botanical design feel light and delicate; solid black shapes give a moth a stronger silhouette. Your choice of style changes the mood, color, and level of detail in the design.
Start with the look you are drawn to. Minimalist keeps the essentials, Fine Line favors delicate detail, and Blackwork emphasizes contrast. For bolder color, try Traditional; for balanced shapes, explore Geometric; for flowing subjects and water motifs, try Japanese.
Keep your own idea and choose one of these six styles in the editor. Not sure which to pick? Open the comparison below to see how one hummingbird-and-flower idea changes across four styles.
These designs began with the same description: a hummingbird hovering beside a hibiscus flower. Compare the line weight, color, black areas, and flow of the composition. Each is a separate generation, so individual details also vary.

Delicate outlines, light detail and an open composition.

Confident outlines and a bolder, illustrated character.

Flowing movement and a more ornamental composition.

Stronger black shapes with clear areas of negative space.
Our examples use the same starting idea in four styles. These are actual generated concepts, not customer tattoos; details naturally vary between generations.
Love the subject, but want a different symbol beside it? Your first tattoo design can be a starting point. Use AI Remix to explore a new element, simpler detail, or another visual direction while giving the AI an existing design to work from.
Choose an unlocked design from your saved work, or upload an image you have permission to use. Describe what you want to keep and what should change. Compare the new version with the original before deciding which one to take further.

Hummingbird + hibiscus

Hummingbird + moon & stars
THE EDIT REQUESTReplace the hibiscus flower with a crescent moon and two small stars. Keep the hummingbird recognizable and preserve the fine-line style, graceful wings and generous white space.

A name can keep someone close. A date can mark a moment you want to remember. A short word can be a reminder you carry with you. Bring those words into your tattoo idea, from a name beneath a rose to a meaningful date framed by a simple mountain line.
Use Add text to enter your wording and choose Calligraphy, Serif, Sans Serif, or Gothic. Describe the symbol you want beside it in the main prompt. Start with a name, date, or short phrase so you can judge the lettering and the artwork together.
AI renders the letters as part of the image. Check every character and the spacing, then confirm the final lettering with your tattoo artist.
You do not need a long story to describe a tattoo. Begin with the subject, explain how the shapes should fit, then add the ink and detail you prefer. These three choices give you something specific to look for in the result.
Start with the main motif and its important features.
A slender snake with a clear head and tapering tail.
Explain the flow and the space around the subject.
A narrow, vertical composition with long S curves.
Say whether you want fine outlines, dark areas, or shading.
Strong black contours, selective shadow, and open space.

Found a design you want to keep? Download the original PNG rather than taking a screenshot. Save a copy, send it privately to your tattoo artist, or print it as a reference for your consultation. The original file gives you the artwork to discuss in more detail.
Open a design in My Ink and choose Download. Bring your intended placement and approximate size to the conversation too; your artist can assess which lines, shading, and spacing will work for that area.

Describe the idea, choose a visual direction, then decide what to keep. Here is where each step happens in InkByYou.

Enter the subject and the details you care about in Prompt. In this example, a koi swims upward through flowing water. Add the shapes, mood, or elements that matter to your own idea.

Pick a style, such as Japanese, and choose the composition and level of detail. Check the credit information beside Generate Tattoo, then submit when you are ready.

Check the design before keeping it. Use Remix on an unlocked result to explore a change, or Download to save its original PNG. My Ink keeps your completed designs together.
Open My InkHigh-resolution interface excerpts and an existing generated koi example. Action labels illustrate where to refine or download; your own result will vary.
Explore on your own, add a personal detail, or arrive at a tattoo consultation with something concrete to discuss.

Not sure what suits you yet? Start with one motif and compare how different styles change its lines, contrast, and mood. Save the versions you want to look at again.

Combine a favorite symbol with a name, date, or short reminder. Explore a visual connection to what matters to you, then check the lettering and details.

Bring a visual reference instead of describing everything from memory. Point out the composition and details you like so your artist can discuss placement, spacing, and scale with you.

Write the main subject in Prompt, add the details and composition you want, and choose a style. Then use Generate Tattoo to create a concept. You do not need to draw a sketch first. Start with one clear idea and compare the result with the features you wanted.

Yes. Open Remix on an unlocked result and describe what should stay and what should change. It creates a new version that you can compare with the original. Each Remix uses a new generation credit, and nearby details may also change.
Not necessarily. The same prompt can produce different interpretations. Keep a copy of a result you like. If you want to revise that particular image, use Remix rather than expecting a new text generation to reproduce it exactly.
An unlocked design can be downloaded as its original PNG after sign-in. The free preview is smaller and watermarked. Downloading an already unlocked file does not use another credit. You can print the PNG or share it privately with your artist as a visual reference.
See the downloadable exampleUse it as a reference for the conversation with your artist. Bring the intended placement, approximate size, and details you want to keep. Your artist can adapt the linework and spacing for skin and check what is practical at that size.
The AI tools share one free preview. Unlocking its original costs 1 credit. Later generations, including Remix, cost 5 credits and include the original. Downloading an already unlocked file does not use another credit. Your first sign-in gives you 10 free credits toward a generation or for an unlock.
View credit optionsArtwork is private by default and kept for up to 30 days. Marking a favorite does not extend that period. You decide whether to create a public sharing link; it shows a watermarked preview and can be revoked. Download the originals you want to keep longer.
